Anonymous Poem

Green surrounded me on all sides
a small light sneaking a peeking through
I let my body press into the branch and slowly drift into a faraway dream.
My wings flapped as I flew
over flower beds
upon flower beds
looking for an orange or deep red flower to rest on.
The breeze was soft,
taking a minimal amount of effort for me to float.
As time went on and I had been to many gardens
searching for my perfect flower
Eventually I began to fly into darker skies.
The grass now became pavement
and the buzz of bees
turned into the hum of cars.
The once soft breeze
began to feel cold
I felt wet hard droplets. I
in the distance I began to see a small patch of grass.
One single plant lay
in the middle
and as I came closer
it was not only orange
but radiated a heaven like hue.
After miles of gardens
I finally found my flower
in the dark skies
and pavement.
