Christmas In Covid
We can all agree that this year has been a very different year. Now, with this pandemic, I want to give everyone some ideas on how they can spice up their Christmas in Covidland.
LIGHTSSSSS!!!!- As many people do annually, lights not only make any house look spectacular, but this year they serve as a beacon of hope. Lights add an effect so unique to Christmas and this year more than any year, people need that. I’m not saying to go extreme with the lights, but even a couple candles outside your windows can really spice up everything. My best advice, go to Walmart: they’re pretty cheap and last a very long time!
SNOWWWWW!!!!!- If it snows, Rosend knows that it’s time to eat cinnamon rolls. I tried to rhyme there, but you got the point! GO OUTSIDE if you can. Snow is the epitome of Christmas. Get out there, throw a snowball or two, make a snow angel, or just lay there and watch as these gorgeous speckles of water fall from the sky. It’s truly beautiful and I hope we get a lot of snow this break!!!
CHRISTMAS MUSICCCC!!!!!- C’mon. Who doesn’t love a Christmas song or two? Or maybe thirty seven if you’re me. But seriously, these pieces of art can create a tranquil, peaceful environment. My advice would be to mix. When lights, snow, and Christmas music is playing in the back, you will have reached a new type of peace many can only wish for. Spotify and Apple Music have running playlists all through January, but Youtube tends to be my favorite. Hear some Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, good old Franky and so many more!!!
And lastly, the best thing we can do this Christmas in Covidland is to be grateful. To be grateful for the families, food, and many other things we are blessed with every day. I hope you all have a safe, warm, happy and Merry Christmas!

Your joy and enthusiasm for the season just leaps out in your writing. 🙂
Yes! I LOVE the lights, too. It makes such a difference. I think I might leave ours up until spring…

I think more people have put up lights this year – I love driving or walking around after dark and seeing what everyone has done. I hope everyone leaves them up extralong – they bring such joy in a challenging year.

I’ve noticed this year I keep delaying the Christmas music! I think it’s because I keep waiting for the school and family events that aren’t able to happen, to signal it’s Christmastime – this was the sign I needed!

My personal favorite Christmas song, “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” by Bruce Springsteen. Runner ups are “Twelve Days of Christmas” by John Denver and the Muppets and “7 O’clock News / Silent Night” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Rosend – If you are looking for lights this holiday season take a drive out to Hubbardston, MA. They are putting on their annual “Light Fight” where houses compete for the prize of being the most decorated, outlandishly lit houses ever. This link will give you all the information you need, or follow the glow! https://www.hubbardstonma.us/special-events/pages/hubbardston-light-fight
