Dear movie watchers,

I’m writing to you today because I want to talk about something I’ve noticed: the way some people always say movies are better than TV shows. I get it, movies are awesome. They’re quick and packed with action. But, I think it’s time to reconsider which one is better because TV shows can actually be just as amazing, and sometimes even better than, movies.

Movies are great because they all tell a story in just a couple of hours. You get to experience a beginning, middle and end all in one time, and there’s a lot of excitement in that. But, TV shows give you more time to really get to know the characters and their stories. Shows like Gossip Girl, Outer Banks and Stranger Things. They let you watch characters grow and change over time. You can see them face challenges, learn lessons, and become better people (or sometimes worse, depending on the show). That’s something movies don’t always have time to do.

TV shows also let you become more attached to the characters. When you watch a movie, you might only know a character for a couple of hours. But in a show, you get to see them grow for weeks or even months, and that makes you care about them a lot more. In shows like The Office or Friends, don’t you feel like you know those people, as if you got to know them personally over time? It’s hard to do that when watching a movie.

You might be thinking, “But movies are faster and exciting!” And yes, movies have their place for sure, but TV shows have the ability to surprise you with creative storytelling and unexpected plot twists. A movie might stick to a straightforward plot, but a show has the room to take risks and twists that keep you guessing. The way we love TV series more than movies now shows how we like stories that go deeper and give us more time to connect with characters. Plus, with shorter attention spans, TV shows are perfect because we can binge them or take breaks whenever we want, making them fit our busy lives better.

So while movies can be a great way to spend a couple of hours, TV shows offer a more dynamic entertainment that keeps the fun going for longer. Wouldn’t you agree that makes them even better?
