Cookies
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon milk
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375° F.
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and milk, beating to combine.
- With the electric mixer on low speed, add flour bit by bit. Beat until well combined.
- Wrap the dough in wax paper and refrigerate for 2 hours. (Set a timer!)
- Coat a flat surface, such as a cutting board, with flour or powdered sugar. This is where you will roll out the dough. Using a rolling pin, roll dough to desired thickness. Use cookie cutters to make shapes from dough.
- Place cookies 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet. Allow to cook for 7-9 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown.
